How did Happynecks® originate?
Jerry (a physiotherapist) came across many dental care professionals in his private practice with different neck and shoulder complaints. In addition, many patients presented neck complaints after dental care treatments. Together with partner Peter, they decided to investigate the ergonomics and support of the neck during dental care. With the help of dental care providers from their circle of acquaintances they designed Happynecks® to overcome these issue with a durable yet comfortable product and Happynecks® was born.

Position of the practitioner
The use of the Happyneck® allows for an ergonomically correct posture of the practitioner:
Upper legs spread 40˚, symmetrical posture with arms straight in front of body.
The Happyneck® allows complete freedom of movement of the practitioner around the patient’s head.
Also because a wide extension of the patient’s neck can be made on the pillow, the practitioner can ensure his/her 25˚ flexion of the patient’s own head with a wide view of the work area, thus minimising tension on the neck muscles.
Position of the head
The Happyneck® is designed in such a way that the shape of the pillow follows the curvature of the cervical spine all the way up to the cervicothoracic transition (neck/upper back transition). This even support of the cervical spine stimulates the extension of the neck. This makes it easier for the head to lean backwards, thus optimizing the practitioner’s working area.
